On November 15, 2022, Clarivate Analytics released its 2022 "Highly Cited Researchers" list. A total of 6,938 scientists from 69 countries and regions around the world were selected for this list, with a total of 7,225 people selected. They all published a number of highly cited papers. The middle and high are in the top 1%. This year, Clarivate Analytics has also strengthened its qualitative analysis of the list of highly cited scientists to better eliminate academic misconduct. Mainland China ranks second among countries and regions in the world in the number of people on the list this year, and the number of scientists selected has risen from 935 (accounting for 14.2%) last year to 1,169 (accounting for 16.2%) this year.
